Maestro - Stick to Your Vision

Listening to sweet, sweet tunes such as this tonight. 90s into the early 2000s knew how to do it.

10 Songs from the Past Year

I’m all about traditions. And when I started this blog I said that once a year I would post my top 10 songs from the past year - whether that was when they were released or that was the first time I had ever heard them. So now it’s time for me to struggle through my iTunes to figure out which were my favs. The first is a no-brainer at least.

  1. Little Hell - City and Colour
  2. Holocene - Bon Iver
  3. Lonely Boy - The Black Keys (tough call with this album, there are a few winners)
  4. I Would Do Anything For You - Foster the People
  5. Ashes - Andy Brown
  6. Mountain Tops - Jon and Roy
  7. Go Outside - Cults
  8. Howe Sounds - Said the Whale
  9. Astronaut - My Robot Friend feat Dean Wareham
  10. West Coast - Coconut Records (PRETTY sure I only first heard this about a year ago)

I’ve already added and removed songs from this list, so I’m going to leave it there. I tried to avoid anything from recently because it’s yet to be judged if they can really be a long standing favourite.

These guys opened up for Bahamas last week. Instantly loved the lead singer’s voice and the band’s sound. This is their only released song as of yet.

A hat tip to you for embracing the light leaks!

I just got my film back from Montauk and I am excited to say that there are many exposures I am very happy with. But this is a perfect example of why I love film and still indulge in shooting it sometimes. Pure accident with a multiple exposure and light leak. But I love it.

This is crazy beautiful! And a great explanation as to why I also love shooting with film still :)

Anyone else remember the days when you got excited hooking up two VCRs so you could record onto a blank VHS tape?

I have been tusked by an elephant, almost eaten by a sperm whale, knocked off my feet by a rhinoceros, embraced by a jaguar, given a haircut by a tiger shark, chased by a hippo and a black mamba, brought to my knees by malaria and dengue. But I was able to avoid the greatest danger of all. Never stop exploring the things that open you, or that you love.

Just found out Gregory Colbert is on Tumblr. Discovered his work a couple years ago and was BLOWN AWAY! SUCH beautiful images. Highly, highly recommend checking him out, whether it’s through his blog or his website. Sit back for a couple hours and take it all in. (extra respect because he’s also Canadian)
